Osaka Business Development Agency (OBDA) held a BOI -OBDA Roundtable Seminar on August 22nd with Mr. Chanin Khaochan, Deputy Secretary General of Thailand Board of Investment (BOI). From the OBDA side, a total of 5 companies joined this meeting including planning to expand and the latest participants of 2022 Subcon Thailand Exhibition. Mr. Chanin Khaochan and Ms. Silipon Narkjure, Director of BOI Osaka Office expressed their gratitude for the acceptance of the face-to-face gathering and participation in the events held in the past.

     Mr. Chanin Khaochan, Deputy Secretary General, said, “After joining the RCEP in January, Thailand’s exports have steadily recovered, mainly to the United States and China, and there is a shortage of containers. Investment from Japan is also on a recovery trend, and the BOI is also providing a one-stop service (OSOS) so that anyone could effectively utilize the investment incentive scheme.” Ms. Nalinee Kanchanamai, Assistant Governor of Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand(I-EA-T), also reported, “There are 39 industrial parks in the EEC (Eastern Economic Corridor). Among them, the development of the Smart Park Industrial Zone is progressing smoothly in Rayong province. The fields of advanced industries and low-carbon industries will be the attractive targets.” On behalf of I-EA-T, she expressed her expectations for future investment by Osaka-based companies. Osaka City signed an MOU with the EEC in February aiming for building a decarbonized society.
