Information on “¥100,000 payout”
~Foreign residents can receive ¥100,000 per person~
The Japanese government has determined to hand out ¥100,000 as a measure of emergency economic response to the coronavirus outbreak. Here is the following information known at the moment.
Every foreigner who is recorded in the Resident Resister (as of 27 Apr. 2020) and have a residence card is eligible to apply (without any qualification) for the benefits. Heads of households will be responsible for applying for everyone in a family.
An application form will be mailed to the address of residence card and need to be returned with the copies of ID (such as residence cards or driver’s licenses) and bank account certification. Payment will be transferred into your bank account.
※The schedule of these procedures will be determined by each municipality and may differ. Please check the website of your local government for more information.
※Application period will be closed three months after the date of reception starts.
